This Blog is devoted to casting light upon the once shrouded and often misinformed history of the Bugatti brand, family and their history. I will periodically post updates on the book, as well as on my continued research into this wonderful brand and the amazing, beautiful and intriguing projects that were created by the brand during its dark and secret times.

Jean Bugatti always had a passion for speed, it was his ultimate goal to posses all three world speed records, he had already achieved one the airspeed record with the Type 100 Plane. All that was left was the land speed  and water speed records, this is the vehicle Jean would use to set an unofficial land speed record.

In 1941 the Bugatti Type 74  served as a technological test bed for Rene Leduc's scram jet program.

Rene Leduc: Propulsion and Aviation Genius.

Born in southern France into a middle class family, near the coast of the Mediterranean. When Rene was a young man he watched Roland Garros set off on his voyage across the Mediterranean sea, this set off a passion for aviation that would last a lifetime. Soon after graduation, with a MSd A in mechanical engineering school on the outskirts of Paris, he got a job at Avions Voisin, where he worked until he grew bored.

"Le blues spectres" was a secret and often mythologized division of the Bugatti brand. Organized by Jean Bugatti in early 1936, the division was to focus mainly on working covertly with the government on military programs, as well as developing products in complete secrecy for the company and wealthy individuals. The only vehicle that ever was publicly unveiled was the type Type 100 Plane. This was only one element of jeans master plan to conquer all three world speed records.

This book revolves around the false misconception of jean bugatti's death. Although he was involved in a very serious accident, triggered by a drunk cyclist, who managed to get onto the track while Jean was testing the Bugatti Type 57c.  After the accident, Jean could no longer handle the rigours of driving and testing the race cars, and therefore moved behind the scenes of the company and into "Le Blues Spectres" division of the company.
